Award by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation
Wise Greece will be supported by the Beyond Plastic Mediterranean Initiative!
Plastic pollution is one of the most serious ecological problems affecting the seas and oceans. Every minute the equivalent of a plastic garbage truck is dumped into it, threatening marine life and our health. The Mediterranean Sea, due to its semi-enclosed nature, is particularly impacted by this pollution. It is now considered to be the most polluted sea in the world.
Faced with this more than alarming observation, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation in collaboration with Surfrider Foundation Europe, the Tara Expeditions Foundation, the MAVA Foundation and IUCN have decided to act together within the Task Force “Beyond Plastic Med” (BeMed), in order to raise awareness and mobilize civil society and stakeholders around concrete actions
Wise Greece was chosen this year as one of the nonprofit Initiatives to be supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation to implement its proposal! Among the planned activities, which will be implemented in the near future is the creation of a platform that highlights all efforts to fight plastic in Greece and the Mediterranean countries, the organization of training seminars for the producers of Wise Greece, the organization of plastic reuse workshops for the general public, as well as the creation and dissemination of communication material.
